The organizing model for the Seeing the Word curriculum reflects a ripple effect rather than a sequential, linear sequence for a learning community that understands discipleship making as a necessary component of Christian life.
The six circles, moving from the center outward, represent:
- Baptism
- Personal Relationship with Christ
- Liturgical and Community Life
- The Six Pillars of Catechesis
- Disciplines of Discipleship
- Catholic Social Teaching
This chart can help facilitate the use of the audio reflections found on this site as a part of group visio divina. Find audio reflection correlations and learn how to use them here.
The model is available for you to print and use in various formats:
Preferred – 8.5″ x 14″ (legal sized paper) – PDF
8.5″ x 11″ (letter sized paper) – PDF
2048 x 1536 (PowerPoint dimensions) – PNG
The sequence of the curriculum is not linear, rather, it spirals outward, deepening one’s capacity for discipleship. The model is open and fluid and nonsequential, meaning a logical order moving from the center and outward is not necessary. It is the sustained practice of Seeing the Word that is transformative. This model is described more thoroughly in the Seeing the Word Program Manual through Liturgical Press.
